A look inside: a warm baby room with Wavy Stripes beige
A calm nursery with a warm base, playful retro details, and a surprising touch of color. When photographer Judith Voogt was expecting her second child, she created an atmospheric mood board for the new nursery. Our Wavy Stripes wallpaper in beige It turned out to fit the atmosphere she had envisioned perfectly. This wonderful collaboration arose from that shared love for a warm and quirky nursery.
In collaboration with Judith Voogt. Styling and photography: Judith Voogt.
From mood board to warm nursery
Judith's original mood board combined calm beige and olive green tones with dark blue, warm wood, and rust-colored accents. The base was to be soft and timeless, but the room also needed enough playfulness and character. The wavy stripe pattern formed the perfect starting point for this.
In the final room, many elements from the mood board remained recognizable. Think of the dark blue cabinet with gold-colored knobs, wooden wall shelves, hot air balloons in warm brown tones, and a green checkered suit as a playful accent. Together, they form a calm whole that does not feel too sweet or predictable.
Wavy Stripes beige as a calm base
Judith chose us for the wall. Wavy Stripes wallpaper - beige. The wavy vertical lines give the wall movement, while the subtle beige tones provide a sense of calm. It is precisely this combination that makes the wallpaper very suitable for a nursery: it adds atmosphere without making the overall look busy.
Moreover, the design works beautifully with various materials and colors. Natural wood and soft fabrics enhance the warm look, while dark blue and rust brown provide more contrast. As a result, the room feels calm, but certainly not flat.
A dark blue chest of drawers as a bold contrast
The dark blue changing table is one of the strongest accents in the room. The deep color stands out particularly beautifully against the light wallpaper. The gold-colored knob gives the furniture a classic touch, while the soft baskets and baby items make the whole ensemble friendly and practical.
This combination clearly shows that beige nursery wallpaper not only pairs beautifully with other neutral colors. A deep color like dark blue can also create balance and character. By repeating the same color in smaller areas, such as wall shelves and accessories, the room remains a cohesive whole.
Playful details that grow with the child
The paper hot air balloons, the warm wood, and the small books make the room playful and personal. The accessories have been carefully chosen, yet the room never feels over-styled. There is plenty of room left for new memories, favorite stuffed animals, and items that will naturally find a place later on.
The small play and reading corner has also been designed with the future in mind. The small wooden desk, the low storage bins, and the wall shelf with books can initially be used for toiletries and toys. Later, it will become a lovely place to read, draw, and play together.
Warm colors with a subtle retro look
The subtle stripes gain extra character through the combination with rust-colored, olive green, and dark blue accents. The small circus tent on the wall shelf complements these warm colors beautifully and adds a touch of fantasy. The different shapes and materials make every corner interesting, while the color palette connects everything.
The result is a nursery that feels soft enough for the first few months, but is also sturdy enough to last for years. By choosing a timeless base and distinctive accessories, the atmosphere can easily be adjusted later without having to change the wallpaper.
Why this nursery combination works so well
The strength of this makeover lies in the balance. The Wavy Stripes wallpaper provides a soft and calm base, while the dark blue furniture and rust-colored accessories add depth. Natural wood connects the different elements and keeps the look warm.
