Color advice Stripes nougat: three warm LAB shades for a quiet children's room

Coloring Story/Stripes Nougat

Soft, warm, and easy to personalize: Stripes nougat is a delightful base for a baby or children's room in natural tones. The stripes give the wall character, while the beige palette leaves room for wood, soft fabrics, and personal details. Which paint will you choose to go with it? With Shade of Linen, Saint Tropez, and Berlin Summer from LAB, you can keep the room light or add some extra warmth.

Your color palette

Soft together, beautifully balanced

Our LAB selection with Stripes nougat. Choose one base and add an accent if desired.

First, order a paint sample or color swatch of your favorite shade. View this at home next to a wallpaper sample, in daylight and with the lights on. This way, you can assess the combination in your own room.

The basis of the little room

Natural with enough difference

A beige room looks its best when not everything is the same shade. Alternate light and dark and combine different surfaces. Think of a wooden cabinet, a soft rug, and calm cotton bedding. The stripes provide the pattern; the materials add layering. A few personal posters then make the room truly your child's.

From color swatch to wall

Which wall paint matches Stripes nougat?

Shade of Linen no. 561

For a bright, quiet room. This light shade is a great candidate for the largest painted wall. Combine it with soft curtains and light wood to keep the space open. The striped pattern remains recognizable, while the transition to the solid wall looks calm.

Saint Tropez No. 460

For a warm sand base. With Saint Tropez, you give the natural palette a sandy direction. Beautiful alongside nougat when you want to add warmth without choosing a pronounced accent color. Let the shade reappear in a solid-colored cushion or a linen accessory, with plenty of light areas around it.

Berlin Summer no. 433

For more depth. This warmer, deeper shade creates a distinction between the light and dark areas of the room. Try it on a smaller wall surface or suitable paintwork. Keep the bedding and curtains light so that the combination does not become too cluttered.

This is how we make it cozy

From light linen to warm sand

Do you want a light nursery? Take Shade of Linen as a starting point and use nougat for a warm wall. For a slightly sandier look, choose Saint Tropez. Berlin Summer is beautiful when you want to add depth to a reading nook or a smaller area. First, place the three samples side by side and then choose one main color. This prevents the room from consisting of too many almost identical beige tones.

Let the floor have its say

A wooden floor naturally brings warmth. Therefore, also view your paint sample low down near the skirting board, next to the floor. With a light floor, you can add a bit more depth; with a dark floor, light textiles help keep the overall look balanced.

First look in your own light

Place the wallpaper sample and paint test next to the floor, the bed, and the curtains. View them in the morning, in the afternoon, and under the lighting you use in the evening. Paint the test on a separate sheet that you can hold against different walls. This way, you can see where the combination looks best.

Make it personal with wall decoration

Let a color from the wallpaper or paint subtly reappear in a poster. One larger print or two calm designs side by side already create a lot of atmosphere. Take the dimensions of your wall into account and leave some space around the frames. Check out our children's room posters for a personal touch.

Start with a small stack of steels

You don't have to be able to visualize the entire room right away. Start with the wallpaper, choose your favorite paint sample, and only then add the fabrics and accessories. That way, a warm spot that suits you grows step by step.
